About Riverlume

A Steady Hand Behind the Numbers

We started Riverlume because too many Bangkok founders were spending energy on financial confusion that better organisation could resolve.

Our Story

How Riverlume Came Together

Riverlume was founded in Bangkok in 2018 by a small group of operations professionals who had spent years working inside mid-sized Thai and regional businesses. The recurring observation was simple: most budget problems were not accounting problems. They were process problems — unclear ownership, missing routines, and spreadsheets nobody updated.

We set out to offer something specific: non-regulated, operational advisory that sits between a founder and their accountant. We help the business understand its own numbers well enough to have a useful conversation with that accountant — and to make day-to-day decisions with more clarity.

The name reflects two ideas. Rivers suggest movement and rhythm — the steady flow of cash through a business. Lume refers to light — clarity over murky figures. Together, they describe what we try to bring to each engagement: better flow and clearer sight.

Our Mission

What We Are Here to Do

Operational, Not Regulated

We work strictly within the non-regulated space. We help businesses plan and track their operations — we don't give financial, legal or tax advice.

Built for Growing Teams

Our methods are sized for businesses with five to fifty people — not corporate finance departments. Sessions are practical and deliverables are usable by non-specialists.

Transparent Working Relationship

We are direct about scope. If something is outside what we can helpfully address, we say so. If you need a licensed professional, we help you identify the right kind.

How We Work

Our Working Standards

Every engagement follows a set of working principles that keep the advice honest, the scope clear, and the output usable.

Defined Scope, Every Time

Before any session starts, we confirm what is and isn't covered. This keeps expectations clear and ensures time is spent on the right things.

Confidential by Default

Business figures, processes and internal information shared during sessions are treated as confidential. We don't share client details with third parties.

Written Deliverables

Every engagement produces a written output — a template, a process map, or session notes. Verbal sessions alone are not our standard.

Data Handling with Care

We follow Thailand's PDPA requirements for handling personal data. Client information is stored securely and not used for any purpose beyond the engagement.

No Regulated Advice

Our work stays within operational planning and internal process guidance. We don't make investment recommendations or provide licensed financial services.

Continuous Improvement

After each engagement we collect feedback. This shapes how we refine our templates, session structure and written materials over time.

Our Perspective

The Operational Layer Most Businesses Overlook

Between a company's daily activity and its year-end accounts, there is a layer of operational work that rarely gets dedicated attention: the routines around budgeting, expense tracking, invoice management, and internal reporting. This layer often exists informally — in spreadsheets owned by one person, in recurring conversations that substitute for process, in month-end scrambles that take far longer than they should.

Riverlume's work is focused precisely here. Not at the accounting end — that is the domain of licensed professionals who handle statutory obligations. And not at the investment or treasury end — that carries its own regulatory requirements. We work in the middle: helping businesses build simple, maintainable operational structures around money so that the people running the business have a clearer picture, more useful habits, and less friction around the numbers.

In Bangkok's business environment, this kind of advisory work is particularly relevant for founders managing multi-currency operations, businesses with mixed Thai and international revenue, and growing teams where financial responsibility is starting to be distributed across departments. The structural challenges are predictable, and the solutions — when approached practically — are within reach of almost any team.

We don't measure success by the complexity of the system we introduce. A simple budget that a team actually uses is more valuable than a sophisticated model that lives in a drawer. That philosophy shapes how we run every session and what we include in every deliverable.
